Your Scale Is A Liar

Your scale is a dirty liar….⁣⁣
⁣⁣

  • It doesn’t tell the story of you holding your first 1min plank.⁣⁣
  • It doesn’t show you how good you feel after a week of eating nutritious meals.⁣⁣
  • It doesn’t reflect the feeling of pushing through a workout you thought you couldn’t finish.⁣⁣

It can’t show you how much more hydrated you are when you drink enough water and how good that makes you feel. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣The scale merely tells you your weight vs. gravity. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I know this may sound counterintuitive when most diet and fitness programs put their focus on that number going down. When in reality you can do major change to your body composition without seeing a significant weight change.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Your weight can fluctuate immensely overnight just with a few factors. This does NOT mean you gained weight over night. I have had clients lose several dress sizes without the scale budging at all.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Before you weigh yourself and have a freak or party….⁣⁣

Ask yourself:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Do I feel better when I eat better?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Do I feel better when I exercise?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Do I feel better when I am hydrated?⁣ ⁣

If the answer is YES, WHY SHOULD THE MEASUREMENT OF YOUR MASS VS. THE WEIGHT OF GRAVITY MATTER?!⁣

So why the HECK does your weight fluctuate so damn much?

Weight Fluctuations

When you start eating in a caloric deficit, meaning that you are now providing less nutrients to your body. It then starts using internal stores of energy. Your fat cells start releasing fat for the “missing” energy not coming from your diet. However, because these cells are VERY stubborn, they get refilled with water first, before saying the final goodbye. It’s like a double check from your body asking you: “are you really wanting me to release this precious stored energy?”.

So what does this mean??

This means your weight could fluctuate alot and even go higher. *Cue freak out party, and making you want to quit. Let me start by saying—I know how frustrating it is to see your weight either stall or go higher when you’re working so damn hard.  But the reality is you are one stage from finally losing the water weight which is literally MASKING your progress, and will then finally reveal your hard work done in the past weeks.

Also remember you are additionally gaining muscle [(which can impair WEIGHT LOSS) but not fat loss]

Ask yourself:

Do I feel better when I eat better?

Do I feel better when I exercise?

Do I feel better when I am hydrated?

If the answer is YES, WHY SHOULD THE MEASUREMENT OF YOUR MASS VS. THE WEIGHT OF GRAVITY MATTER?!
