I lost 65lbs with at-home workouts in 2013 after having my first child. I do 99.9% of my workouts from home and coach women all around the world on how to do the same. At-home workouts can be just as effective as exercising in the gym. Let me start by saying, there are a TON of effective movements you can do with just your body weight. However, as you progress having tools to add resistance like weights and bands is essential to avoid a plateau.
Set yourself up for success by having a dedicated area to exercise. The following items are really all you need to make a major transformation at home. This minimalist DIY home gym list will give you everything you need to get a full-body workout from home.

BOOTY BANDS:
These bands are THE SHIT! I have tried numerous brands of bands and these stand the test of time. These heavy bands will last and won’t stretch out. The two band set is perfect for a beginner. Donโt waste your money on crappy thin bands that will roll up. These are worth every cent.
DUMBBELLS:
Lifting weights is the bset way to transform your body from anywhere. Having a set at home makes getting an effective workout in simple. Selecting a weight for you will depend on your strength and fitness level. For a beginner I recommend starting with 5-8lbs for upper body 10-15lbs for lower body. Choose a weight that feels heavy but you can still complete your reps.
WORKOUT SURFACE:
Setting up your space makes it way easier to get a workout in quickly. Pilates mats are great for hard workout surfaces and are easy to roll up and store. If you want something set up all of the time Foam tiles are another get option.

My program provides quick workouts you can do with the equipment above. Plus the guidance and accountability to stay on track. I will keep you motivated and on track with your goals.
